Sonatina Festival

Date: May 18th & 19th 2024 

Saturday 9AM (Adjudication in Room 206 @ SOU) 

Sunday 3PM (Recital - at Jacksonville Library)

Forms Due: May 3rd, 2024

Fee: $15-20

​

The Sonatina Festival is designed to give students of high school age and younger the opportunity to learn and perform beautiful music from various composers, periods and styles.

 

Students will perform before a judge, compete with other students and receive a written critique of their performance.

​

Competing students will perform from memory a complete sonatina or sonata.  All competing students will be invited to perform one movement on the Sonatina Festival Recital.  Alternately students may choose to participate for evaluation comments only.

The Joyce Stevens Scholarship

         

Forms Due: May 15

Fee: N/A

​

The Joyce Stevens Scholarship is to be awarded to a qualified college freshman or sophomore who has studied with a Rogue Valley District Teacher.  The student must have declared a music major or minor.
